The economic meltdown of 2008, “EM08,” has forever changed the world and is arguably the biggest event of our time. Many are suffering now and feeling helpless. We aim to help change that.
HOW TO USE THIS SITE
As with any subject, history is the place to begin. Use our interactive timeline to gain basic knowledge of the events, people and organizations that played their part in EM08. Yeah yeah, we know we know. it’s clunky. Hey, times are hard; you’d cut us some slack if you knew what our budget was.
What counts is a story or what writers call a narrative. We all know we got royally jacked but no one is putting together how this all happened, at least for everyday folks. We’re trying in this first attempt. Rather than sit back and poke your finger in our eye, send us your thoughts and comments. At the very least, there’s a one-stop-shop here for EM08 info. It’s a start.
We understand that this is all very depressing. All is not lost, however, because there are good people conducting their lives that provide examples of how to survive. See the examples highlighted in the “Survival Strategies.” If you are aware of people, organizations and communities that have innovative strategies by all means contact us.
We encourage your feedback and wish you good luck.

Here’s an example of why we think the blogosphere is ahead of the mainstream media (msm) in terms of reporting on EM08. We just discovered this piece, and while not earth-shattering in meaning, we like it because it’s real, not canned, phony politik. It’s apropos in many ways that we have as our first article’s theme this one on unemployment, one of the devastating shocks of EM08 that as of July 2010 doesn’t look like it will recover for a while.
So, there’s our intro and here’s JW Mason from the blog “the Slack Wire, 6/28/10“.
